The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

A BIG Thank You!

I would like to send a big Thank You out to Judith, Debbie and Annmarie for speaking about our ministry this past weekend and this upcoming weekend at the liturgies. This is our time to recruit new members. Those of us who have been around over the last three years are eager to welcome some new recruits. Speaking of new recruits ... welcome, Julie Siler. Julie joined us for the first time on Thursday at our first meeting after a two-month hiatus this June and July. Julie, we hope you will stop by our table at the ministry fair and introduce yourself to Marty (already met), Annmarie, Mary Beth, and Debbie. Judith and I will be at the table on Saturday. If any of you members would like to help get our table together before the Saturday evening liturgy, please be there by 4:30 PM. I may love yarn, but I really haven't been gifted with the design skill to make the table absolutely eye-catching and a must-see!
