The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

Sad News

It is with much sadness that I tell you about our dear, sweet Mary Coyle who passed away on Sunday at Duke Hospital. Mary was a gifted yarn lover. She shared her giftedness with us at our meetings at The Belted Goat in Fearrington. I have several beautiful baby hats she made for the Pregnancy Support Services which I have not yet taken over to them. Oh, how hard it will be for me to give them away. We can celebrate her life at her service which will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 30, at St. Thomas More here in Chapel Hill.

Thank you, Mary. You have been a blessing to us all.
