The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

One more meeting - May 24 - before our summer break!

We met on Thursday, May 19, in the Newman Library for the last time before our summer break.  That doesn't mean our hooks and needles will be idle these next three months. A date has been set for our 3rd Annual Fundraiser/Sale to benefit Missionaries for Marcos - the group of self-funded people from around the Raleigh diocese who make an annual trek to Honduras to assist Padre Marcos and those he serves.

That date?  December 10 and 11.

That's not all. Bake Sale - October 8 and 9.

Look for emails over the summer months with any updates, news, info regarding our efforts in making these events successful. Your thoughts and suggestions and words of encouragement are most welcome.  And, until the next time . . .

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for me."
Matthew 25:40
