The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

Belated Post about our Belated Celebration

After all our "ninja-knitting" on the stockings for the Advent Giving Tree and our successful sale/fundraiser for Missionaries for Marcos, we felt a need to celebrate - to spend some relaxing time together over a delicious meal before we moved on to our next project. We chose January 13 at the Nantucket Grill ... wise choice indeed. Although the weather threatened to turn ugly, seven of us were brave enough to come out. Getting there was easy and, when we left, it was still pleasant and dry. Service was excellent. Tuesday specials were half price glasses of wine and half serving of their mile high cake for dessert. Wow! Here's a couple of pictures from that evening. We are looking forward to the "next time."
