The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

Speaking of babies ...

Did you all know that our ministry is expecting its first baby? Shelly (a member of our ministry from its beginning) and Christian will be welcoming their first child in July. They announced this good news last week. Shelly has missed some meetings during this first trimester of her pregnancy but is feeling much better now and hopes to be back with us soon.

We send you our prayers for a joyous pregnancy, a speedy delivery and a healthy and happy baby. We look forward to welcoming this child in a few short months. Congratulations, Shelly and Christian.

  1. I very much enjoy reading about the beautiful ministry you have at Newman. The love you show for your fellow ministers & others in need of comfort is a blessing that extends further than you may realize, to souls like mine. Thank you for your example of faith in action.
