The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

Palustris Festival - Yarn Bombing in Southern Pines

A festival is being held this weekend, March 20-24, in Southern Pines, celebrating the visual, literary, and performing arts. This is certain to be a marvelous way to enjoy Spring. Check out the link below to view all the 100+ activities offered.

Palustric Festival

As part of the festival, the local yarn shop, Bella Filati Luxury Yarns, is sponsoring a customer showcase where items that have been made within the past year by their yarn lovers will be displayed. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorites. Although I have never visited this shop, I have it on the best authority that it is well worth a trip down to Southern Pines. Here is a link to the yarn shop.

As part of the festival, Bella Filati will be yarn bombing the festival area. That alone will be worth the trip
