The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as prayer, for prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.

A prayer shawl or blanket embraces the recipient with the unconditional love of the Lord. It is a gift reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer squares are given to those going on mission trips, working for social justice. Many blessings are prayed into every item we make.

Deadline for hats and scarves, etc. just around the corner

The high school students and their advisers will be leaving for Avery County on Sunday, June 16. That means we have only two weeks to finish the items we are working on if we want to send them along. Please leave whatever you might have ready in our library cupboard marked for Cathy and please let me know when you leave something. I will be delivering two bags full of warmth to her the week of June 9 and will add anything I find in the cupboard. We will be giving a prayer square to all of those going on this trip also.

Let's warm up Avery County this upcoming winter!
